Outreach
Mother-Friendly Provider Network: In 2010, CiC launched a new online tool for parents - a national, searchable database of mother-friendly care providers and their profiles. Parents from around the country can come to the online Provider Network and enter their zip-codes to see profiles of participating care providers in their area. From Acupuncture to Yoga, from Childbirth Education to Pediatricians, the Provider Network covers the range of traditional and alternative mother friendly care providers.
Partnership Building : CiC is proud to work with a wide range of national and local organizations to further our shared mission of educating and supporting childbearing women, and connecting them to resources within their community. Our partners include:
- • BirthNetwork National
- • Coalition for Improving Maternity Services
- • DONA International
- • International Center for Traditional Childbearing
- • International Childbirth Education Association
- • Lamaze International
- • Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University
- • Midwives Alliance of North America
- • Mothering Magazine

Miles for Midwives: In conjunction with the New York City Chapter of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, CiC co-hosts an annual celebration of Midwifery Week. This annual 5-k run in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park increases awareness about midwifery and women’s health while raising funds for both organizations.
